Garage Floors
Vail Mountain Properties builder Dantas Builders hired Garage Dekor to resurface the 750 square foot home shown here. This is the 6th project Garage Dekor has completed for the luxury home builder.
Garage Dekor specializes in resurfacing concrete floors in the Vail Valley and Aspen Colorado area. Garage Dekor is run by Steve Conklin. Steve uses One Day Floors “Pure Bred” Polyaspartic system, an advanced technological decorative coating developed by Bayer Material Sciences.
The decorative polyaspartic system is a necessity not a luxury in the mountain states and any cold weather climate. In Colorado roads are de-iced with Magnesium Chloride, highly effective for melting snow and ice but extremely corrosive for anything else.
Snow and ice from roads stick to wheel wells of cars and trucks then melt in the garage. Not only does the melting snow and ice cause water problems in homes and commercial properties but leaves the Magnesium Chloride on the concrete floor. This causes rapid deterioration of concrete, spalling and decay. The damage is extreme and expensive, many times the cost of the One Day Floors coating.
Here is a photo of new concrete without a proper coating.

It is extremely important to consider any coating other than a properly applied “Pure Bred” Polyaspartic is subject to delamination and decay. Salts in the concrete have a deterioring effect on epoxy coatings causing failure. Resurfacing Vail Mountain properties witha “Pure Bred” polyaspartic is likely the only solution.
