Some may ask “how it is that Polyaspartics resist moisture pressure, alkalinity and other factors that cause such problems for coatings like epoxies and hybreds?” One Day Floors professionals offer more value than just the application of an technologically advanced coating. Analysis of a floor may determine a higher level of moisture on one side of a floor than the another. Why? Maybe the lack of adequate surface drainage which frequently is the cause of excessive moisture in concrete floors and foundations.

1. Alkalinity Test - starting in upper left and going clockwise. White and turqoise tool tests pH/ Alkalinity of surface
2. Digital Camera - important for documenting project
3. Slip Meter - Measure of Static Coefficiency of Friction (COF). Measures slip resistance
4. Surface Temperature Guage - Measures temperature of concrete surface which is different than air temperature.
5. Temerature Humidity Meter- Measuring air quality. This is an important tool for educating the client and to explain ODF’s ability to handle the extremes in ambient weather conditions.
6. Mohls Strike Test - Tests hardness of concrete surface. Hardness of surface will help reveal many things about the concrete surface such as which diamonds to use for grinding the floor.
7. Static Moisture Gauge- tests moisture levels at concreteinterface- ThoughPolyaspartics can deal with moisture levels higher than other coatings it isimportant toknow the levels. Where is excess moisture coming from, faulty gutters, poor drainage or other factors.

8. Bottles - Neutral Water 7 for testing alkalinity levels and Cure and Seal agents. After floor has beenground it is important totest to determine if there are any contaminents left in the concrete. Polyaspartics must penetrate and “wet” into the concrete surface. Contaminents/Bond Breakers prohibit Polyaspartics from doing what they are designed to do.
9. Hand Held Torch - Another tool to check for Cure and Seal agents or other bond breakers.
10. Hand held microscope - this tool is for general examination of porosity of concrete. Used before and after grinding concrete to analyze surface.
11. Knife - handy for scraping surface.
Not all tools are required but are tools that indicate to the client that as a contractor you are most educated and are the most scientific in your approach to manage their installation.
