Norman Oklahoma Concrete Floor - Home To The Mighty Sooners.
The Norman Oklahoma Concrete Floor featured here was resurfaced with a single color gray non slip surface.
The building is used as a Fellowship Hall with approximately 3,000 square feet of surface area. The new floor has increased light reflection making for a brigher interior. The non slip (coefficient of friction ) was an important consideration. As mentioned in previous posts slip/fall accidents area serious issue with concretefloors. One Day Floors “Pure Bred” Polyaspartics offer a solution. The recommended Coeffient of Friction (COF)standards are .6 on flatsurfaces and .8 on ramps and inclines. Based on an OSHA report a
COF rating of 0.5 is a safe level. With ODF technologynon slip additives start in the first coat and continue through each subsequent coat. This application method is provides a long term safer floor than adding abrasion materials to the top coat or broadcasting.
With the Norman Oklahoma concrete floor mentioned here COF can be measured periodically with a slip meter. If the level declines the floor can be lightly sanded and resurfaced in one day returning to the recommended COF levels. This simple and inexpensive recoat process ensures a long term safe floor and reduces the potential liability of slip fall accidents.
Polyaspartics “wetting” capabilities make non slip additives part of the floor rather than just stuck in the floor like with Epoxies. “Wetting” means that polyaspartics absorb into porous non slip additives like water absorbing into a sponge. This feature prohibits the non slip COF from wearing down or dislodging. This is a huge benefit in public facilities.
